In many ways, my story is the same as yours.  I was raised in a dysfunctional family and within the confines of a God fearing religion.  I turned my back on my family and on God and went searching for my own way.  I went straight from high school to college with a dream of who I was going to be and became someone completely different than expected.  I lived a false life until I could stand it no more and went in search of deeper meaning.  Now, I'm back to embracing the importance of the love of family, even if physically embracing all the prickly people in my family is not always directly possible and I've learned to love an ever present God in which all exist as One.

Today, I offer heart-centered listening to my clients as a spiritual counselor.  I am ceaselessly amazed by people's ability to heal themselves when they are simply provided a mirror to their own experience.  Sometimes, by offering nothing but silence and a vibration of love and acceptance, I get to witness a person's transformation from frightened to confident and loving.  My career is much like gardening … just add love, fertilizer and water and watch the seeds grow into beautiful and unique creations as if by miracle.
